Chess at Three’s Community Classes are group chess lessons held in a variety of neighborhood locations: parks, community centers, public spaces, residential buildings, common areas, libraries, schools, and more!

We utilize a unique cast of characters, in fun and interactive stories; children progressively learn to play chess. Our stories focus on why chess pieces move in their own unique ways and are supported by activities that cement chess knowledge in your child’s mind.

How long is a Community Class?

Each class lasts 45 minutes, with 7-minute drop-off and pick-up periods before and after the class. For example:

  • Tuesdays, 4:00pm: Midtown
  • Drop-off: 4:00pm to 4:07pm
  • Lesson: 4:08 to 4:53pm
  • Pick-up: 4:53 to 5:00pm
Do you take walk-ups?

If you pass by a Community Class and want to jump in, don’t be shy! Community Class tutors will have QR codes available at each lesson location to accommodate walk-ups who arrive during the drop-off period. That said, the best way guarantee a spot is to register online beforehand.
