Group Classes
Located in the heart of Park Slope, the Chess Club is a great place for students to grow their game along with fellow chessmates! Whether beginner or advanced, students become successful chess players while also exploring the foundations of math, strategy, sportsmanship, and social skills in an ideal group environment. Students also get to play our famous life-size chess board – exclusive only to our club students!
Chess Camp
Chess Club Camp is the perfect activity for children during summer, spring break, snow days, or any other day when school is off! Join us as we tell epic stories of heroic chess battles, analyze chess moves, and play crazy chess. Students will also be introduced to the rubik’s cube, and solve puzzling adventures in our new program called Birchguard Quest!
QUAD TOURNAMENTS
Our tournaments give students an opportunity to experience the aspects of a tournament setting in a low stakes, high fun environment! We play games, walk through fundamentals of a tournament, have snacks, special speakers, and hand out tournament goodies (and medals). It’s a great introduction to competitive chess for our students wanting to practice what they’re learning in class with other kids their age and skill level!
Quads events run the 1st Saturday of every month. To be eligible for entry, students must know how all the pieces move and have experience playing capture the king.
Open Play Saturday
Join the neighbors as we come together each week for Open Play Saturdays from 12-3pm! Come play a round of chess with one of our fantastic Chess at Three Tutors, practice your skills from class, or bring a friend and challenge them to a game!
